Album Review: Spanish Love Songs Has a Lot to Say on "Brave Faces Everyone"
By Ashley Gallagher
Spanish Love Songs’ new album is one to scream your heart out to. It is packed to the brim with emotions, but also topics that are worth screaming about. “Brave Faces Everyone” is rich storytelling mixed with the message “you are not alone.”
The album consists of ten pop punk tracks that remind the listener of The Wonder Years. The lyrics have a call-for-help tone and reflects on real life experiences make this album a valuable listen. They changed their sound slightly to highlight the lyrics on their album, as well as their most important music elements like strong guitar and bass riffs.
The band touches on topics that need to be talked about such as anxiety and depression, but they put these topics in a more hopeful light. The band has been known to touch on political topics like mass shootings, the opioid crisis and climate change, and they do it well. They have a voice and they want you to hear it.
They take inspiration from The Menzingers, who they are currently supporting on tour. They will also be supporting The Wonder Years on tour starting Feb. 20.
